Lighthouse Masonry wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, screen magnification or other assistive technology. We're working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we've done
- The pages are built with standard HTML: real headings, lists, buttons and form labels, so assistive technology can make sense of them.
- Everything works with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link comes first on every page, and the item you're on always shows a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons are sized and colored to be easy to read, with strong contrast between text and background.
- Photos have text descriptions. Purely decorative pictures, like the service-area map and the lighthouse drawings, are hidden from screen readers, and the same information is given in text.
- The estimate form labels every field, says which are required and reads out errors and confirmations to screen readers.
- Animations are turned off if you've asked your device to reduce motion, and the site works with Windows high-contrast mode.
- Pages adjust to any screen size and can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
Known limitations
- Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3, which runs in the background and normally asks you to do nothing. If it ever blocks you by mistake, call us and we'll take your request by phone.
- Other companies' content: links to other sites, like Google's policies, aren't under our control and may not meet the same standard.
We'll keep testing the site as it grows and fix problems as we find them.
