Repair & restoration

Repairs

We repair cracked, broken and worn brick on older homes, with brick and mortar matched to what's already there.

How we do it

We match the brick's color, size and texture, then the mortar color and the shape of the joint. New work is tied into the old so it weathers the same way.

We repair cracks from foundation movement, replace broken or spalled brick, tuckpoint worn mortar joints, and rebuild damaged sections after a car, a storm or a removed fixture.

What's included

  • Crack repair and stitching
  • Brick and stone replacement matched to the original
  • Tuckpointing and repointing of worn mortar joints
  • Rebuilding damaged walls, corners and columns
  • Chimney and mailbox repair
  • Cast stone sill and trim replacement

Questions we hear about repairs

Can you match brick on an older home?

Yes. We find the closest brick available, sometimes from salvage, and match the mortar color and joint so the repair blends in.

My brick cracked after foundation work. Can you fix it?

Yes. Once the foundation is stable, we can repair the cracks and replace any broken brick so the wall looks whole again.

What is tuckpointing?

It's removing worn or cracked mortar from the joints and replacing it with fresh mortar, matched in color and finish. It stops water getting in and makes the wall look new again.
