Archways

A well-built arch is the detail people remember about a house. We build brick and stone archways for entries, porches, windows, gates and gardens.

How we do it

We build each arch over a form cut to the exact curve and keep the joints even all the way around. A keystone or soldier course finishes it when the design calls for one.

Arches can be part of a new home or added to an existing one: an arched entry on a porch, an opening between a patio and a yard, or a freestanding garden arch.

Knowing you want an arch somewhere is enough to start. We'll look at the spot with you and work out the shape and size before you commit.

What's included

Questions we hear about archways

Can you add an arch to an existing brick house?

Often, yes. We'll look at the opening, the structure above it and the brick you have, then tell you what's possible and how we'd match the existing work.

Brick or stone: which is better for an arch?

Both work well. Brick gives crisp, regular joints; stone gives a more rustic look. We'll show you examples of each and help you pick what suits the house.
