Brick & stone masonry in Fort Worth and the West Metroplex

Head west and the ground changes: in parts of Fort Worth limestone is close to the surface, and out toward Weatherford the soil gets sandier. Shallow rock can make digging footings slower but gives a wall a solid base; sandy soil drains well but needs to be compacted properly. Closer to Arlington, it's more of the same expansive clay found in Dallas. We check which kind of ground your lot has before we plan the footing.

Southlake, Keller and the west side lean toward stone: full stone exteriors, stone and brick combinations, cast stone trim, arched entries and stone columns. We install all of it, with extra care at the corners, where brick meets stone, and where stone sits above windows and doors.

Bigger lots mean outdoor grills, stone flower beds and retaining walls. In older Fort Worth and Arlington neighborhoods, we repair brick to match, rebuild loose sections and clean and seal walls that have weathered for decades.

Most cities in the area require a permit, and often an engineered design, for a retaining wall over about four feet tall or one that holds up a driveway, a pool or a slope behind a house. The exact rule varies from city to city, so we check with the building department before we quote a tall wall, and we tell you up front when an engineer needs to be involved.
